About the Artist
Catharine Somerville is a Canadian-born contemporary artist who divides her time between Ontario and the United Kingdom. Born in Toronto, Catharine has dedicated her life to exploring light, colour and the natural landscape through paint. Her work is rooted in direct observation and experience, whether she's in her studio or painting en plein air on location.
About This Donation
For Socks for Change, Catharine has generously donated an original painting to be auctioned online to support our movement. Her work celebrates the fragile beauty of the world around us and invites the viewer to experience colour, light and place in a fresh way. This donation reflects Catharine's belief in art as a way to connect people, inspire compassion, and make a meaningful impact.
About the Painting
The Winter Skies of Henley is a 24"×30" oil on canvas started in the fall of 2025, painted overlooking the Martindale Pond in Port Dalhousie.
